The EU Portability Regulation allows consumers in the European Economic Area (EEA) to access online content services like BritBox as if they were at home while traveling within the EU.
This applies to subscribers whose BritBox accounts are based in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, or Norway, including subscriptions purchased through Apple or Google Play.
Can I watch BritBox while traveling in the EU?
Yes. As long as you have an active BritBox subscription based in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, or Norway, you can continue watching BritBox while traveling within EU countries.
While traveling, you'll continue to have access to the same BritBox catalog available in your home country.
Example: If you subscribe to BritBox in Sweden and travel to Italy, you can continue streaming BritBox and will still have access to the Swedish catalog, even though Italy doesn’t have BritBox as a local service.
A list of all EU countries can be seen here.
Can I use BritBox in an EU country where BritBox isn't available?
Yes. EU portability rules allow eligible subscribers to access their existing BritBox subscription while temporarily visiting EU countries where BritBox is not currently available.
Example: If you're a BritBox subscriber from Norway visiting Poland, you can continue streaming BritBox during your trip.
Can I create a new BritBox subscription while traveling?
No. If you're traveling in a country where BritBox isn't currently supported, you won't be able to create a new BritBox subscription.
For example, while visiting Poland, you can use an existing eligible BritBox subscription, but you can't create a new BritBox account until you're back in a supported country.
Does EU Portability apply to all BritBox subscribers?
No. EU portability only applies to qualifying BritBox subscriptions based in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Norway.
Subscribers based in the United States, Canada, and Australia aren't covered by EU portability rules. Standard BritBox availability and travel rules apply when traveling internationally.
