The EU Portability Regulation allows consumers in the European Economic Area (EEA) to access online content services like BritBox as if they were at home while traveling within the EU. This portability applies to BritBox subscribers in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Norway, including those with subscriptions through Google Play and Apple*.
As long as you have an active subscription, you can watch BritBox in any other EU member country.
Example:
A subscriber from Norway traveling to Italy can still access the Norwegian catalog on BritBox, even though Italy doesn’t have BritBox as a local service.
These portability rules do not apply to customers in the United States, Canada, or Australia, as these countries are outside the EU.
However, standard BritBox portability rules still apply.
Example:
A subscriber from the United States traveling to Norway can access the Norwegian catalog on BritBox, but if they travel to Italy, they will not be able to watch BritBox.
A list of all EU countries can be seen here.
You cannot sign up for BritBox in other EU countries.
*Subscriptions with Google Play and Apple may need to verify their country of residence. Learn more here.
