The vast majority of our on-demand programmes are subtitled or have closed captions in English.
Subtitles display only the spoken dialogue, perfect for viewers who don’t need additional audio details. Closed captions (CC), on the other hand, include both dialogue and essential sound effects like [door creaks] or [music playing], making content more accessible.
Subtitles in local languages are also available for on-demand programmes on the BritBox service available in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.
All BritBox subtitles and captions are designed to be clear and easy to follow.

How to change the size of the subtitles or closed captions will vary depending on the device you are using.
Specific subtitle typing and/or size can be changed in the device settings for the following platforms:
