If you're in the United States or Canada, here's how to buy a gift subscription:
- Go to www.britbox.com/gift-purchase
- Select a gift plan
- Enter the recipient's name, email address, and a personalized gift note
- Send the gift immediately, or schedule it for a later time by choosing a date by clicking on the 'Calendar' icon
- Click 'Continue'
- Enter your name, payment information, and email address
- Review the details of your purchase, such as the gift plan, the gift email, and payment information
- Click 'Purchase Gift'
- When complete, you'll see the gift code displayed on the screen
- The gift code is sent via email to the recipient either immediately or on the date you selected
If you're in the Denmark, Finland, Norway, or Sweden, here's how to buy a gift subscription:

Where can I give the gift of BritBox?
Anyone can purchase a BritBox gift subscription whether or not they have an active account, as long as the recipient lives in one of our supported regions.
While anyone worldwide can purchase a gift, account gift subscriptions can only be redeemed in regions where BritBox is available. These supported regions include the United States, Canada, Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway.
How much is it?
A 1-year gift subscription to BritBox is:
- $109.99 for Standard Annual and $149.99 for Premier Annual in the United States and Canada
- 695SEK in Sweden
- €59.99 in Finland
- 599DDK in Denmark
- 699NOK in Norway
Compared to a monthly subscription, annual subscriptions will always be cheaper than our monthly subscriptions over a year's time.

When does a gift subscription start?
For purchasers, the subscription will begin once the recipient redeems their code, not when you buy it.
If you're the recipient, when you redeem a BritBox gift subscription, the gift is applied to your account right away. Any time remaining on your current paid plan isn’t lost; we’ll convert the remaining value of your plan into extra days on the new subscription.
This is done through daily proration, which means we calculate how much your remaining subscription is worth each day, then convert that value into days on your new plan based on the cost of the new subscription. In simple terms, your gift starts immediately, and the unused time from your old plan becomes extra days added to your new one.
What happens after the 1-year gift subscription ends?
Gift subscriptions renew automatically after one year on the credit card that the recipient provides during sign-up.
Recipients in Finland and Denmark do not need to supply a credit card.
If the recipient doesn't want to renew automatically, they can cancel at any time and continue watching until the end of their subscription. Here's how.
The recipient didn't receive the email. What do I do?
Have them check their spam or junk folder. If they still can't find it, you have two options:
- If you made a note of the code, you could share it directly with the recipient and the steps to redeem it
- We can look it up if you didn't note the code. Simply email us at support@britbox.com
Can I redeem a gift subscription on Amazon Prime Video Channels, Apple TV Channels, Google Play, The Roku Channel, or TV4 Play?
Gift subscriptions cannot be redeemed directly on Amazon Prime Video Channels, Apple (including the Apple TV Channel), Google Play (including Android TV), The Roku Channel, or Telia TV4 Play.
The recipient should cancel their subscription with our partner and re-subscribe with us directly to use the gift subscription. Find out how here.
