When you redeem a BritBox gift subscription, the gift is applied to your account right away. Any time remaining on your current paid plan isn’t lost; we’ll convert the remaining value of your plan into extra days on the new subscription.
This is done through daily proration, which means we calculate how much your remaining subscription is worth each day, then convert that value into days on your new plan based on the cost of the new subscription. In simple terms, your gift starts immediately, and the unused time from your old plan becomes extra days added to your new one.
